Connecting Market Harborough and Northampton via a high quality traffic-free cycle path through the stunning Leicestershire and Northamptonshire countryside, the Brampton Valley Way provides the perfect opportunity for a family day out. The route follows one of the longest dismantled railway paths in the country. Along this railway line there is a series of tunnels which add a bit of excitement to the cycle ride as these are approximately 500 m long with no light, except a ventilation shaft in the middle – Beware these tunnels are pitch black so make sure you are prepared!

The Black Horse
The Black Horse is in the picturesque village of Foxton in Leicestershire. Just off the A6 about 3 miles out of Market Harborough. We’re just a short walk on the tow path from the popular tourist attraction of Foxton Locks. Escape the busy locks and drop by to enjoy a quiet drink and bite to eat with us. Our chef uses fresh ingredients to produce fabulous meals that you can have outdoors on the patio area whilst taking in the peaceful outdoors, or in our conservatory restaurant where you can still take in the extensive views of the countryside. We offer a wide range of honest home cooked food, and a good selection of accompanying real ale, wine and spirits. Fresh coffee and tea are served throughout the day.
