Art is very important to Uppingham with a number of distinguished art galleries displaying work from acclaimed artists from around the world as well as introducing visitors to a plethora of talented local artists. Peter Barker Fine Art is a great example of this, and the internationally renowned Goldmark Gallery is certainly not to be missed. The Rutland Gallery exhibits both established and emerging contemporary artists.

The Royal Centre, based in the heart of Nottingham’s city centre, incorporates both the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall. Market Harborough is a rare example of a planned medieval ‘new town’. It was created in the 12th century especially to be a market and to promote local trade. Markets are still held in the town on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8.30am – 5.00pm, with an Antiques Market on Sundays.

The picturesque, busy market town of Market Harborough is just a short five minute drive from Foxton Locks Lodges. The town offers the ideal place to head for a range of well-known high street shops, independent boutiques and a range of restaurants and pubs. The town is steeped in history with the St Dionysious Church and old Grammar School located in the centre of the town. This year we have 33 race meetings (22 flat and 11 National Hunt). During the summer months we will be hosting a variety of themed evenings ranging from comedian nights to burlesque dancers. Our headline feature fixture this year will be our Smooth Radio Ladies Day featuring the fantastic Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet lead singer) who will be singing live with his band after the racing.
